We've been captured by the call God gave Abraham from Genesis 12:2-3, "I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you." From these promises God made to the Old Testament Patriarch Abraham, with empowering from the Holy Spirit, we've endeavored to be a People of Blessing. As People of Blessing, together we want our reputation to be:
Biblical: Using the Bible as a “measuring tape” for our attitudes and actions, the goal for our lives is to be like Jesus.
Affirming: Our arms are open to everyone. No matter who you are or where you’re from, what you think or what you’ve done, you’re always accepted in this community.
Generous: We want to be joyfully be openhanded with our lives. We intentionally want to give ourselves to others for encouragement with the talents and spiritual gifts God has given us.
Authentic: We realize we’re on a journey together and want to live in truth and transparency. We have not arrived, but are discovering who we are and who we are created to become.
Engaging: We endeavor to be an essential part in our community, offering hope and with compassion helping where we can and in so doing to "spread the aroma of Christ" among everyone we encounter (2 Corinthians 2:14-17).
